Definition
This indicator only applies if Secure Network Communication (SNC) has been activated and password-based logon using SAP GUI is permissible user-specifically. For this condition to be fulfilled, the following profile parameters must be set:
- snc/enable = 1
- snc/accept_insecure_gui = U
The SNC status indicates the status of these profile parameters.
If the profile parameters are set as described above, you can use this indicator to determine whether the user must log on with his or her SNC name.
By default, the option Permit password logon for SAP GUI is not selected. This means that the user can only log on with his or her SNC name, as long as there is an assignment between the SNC name and user account.
If the option Permit password logon for SAP GUI is selected, the system (also) allows a password-based logon, regardless of the use of an SNC-secured connection. The ability to logon using an SNC name is unaffected by this setting.
