Documentation
Definition
Defines the time interval, within which the processing step can be started.
Use
By entering a start and end time, you define the time of day when processing of a self-billing transmission can be started.
This enables you to ensure, for example, that self-billing documents are only processed outside of normal business hours.
Procedure
Examples
You specify a start time of 20:00:00 and an end time of 05:00:00, because the majority of users are not using the system between these times.
Dependencies
When the system dispatches the processing step (calculating the start time, for example, from the date/time of transmission and the delay for the processing step (see EDI processing parameters), it checks whether the resulting start time falls within the interval specified here. If it falls outside of this interval, the system automatically postpones the start to the next possible point in time.
Example
- The permitted interval is from 20:00:00 to 05:00:00.
- A transmission is created on 01.10.1999 at 23:55:00.
- The delay set in the processing parameters for the EDI partner is 12 hours.
The system therefore calculates a start time of 11:55:00 on 02.10.1999 (12 hours after creation).
Since 11:55:00 is not within the permitted time interval between 8pm and 5am, the system sets processing to start at 20:01:00 on 02.10.1999.
Note:
This can lead to a large number of transmissions set for processing at the start of the permitted time interval.
