Definition
You use this procedure to specify the way in which the system should determine the optimal forecast model.
Procedure 1
Based on a significance test, the system investigates whether the pattern is trend-dependent or season-dependent, and selects the forecast model accordingly.
Procedure 2
The system works through all the forecast models, performs a parameter optimization for each and chooses the model with the smallest mean absolute variance.
Procedure 2 is more accurate, but takes considerably longer than procedure 1.
