Definition

Specifies a signature method. You have the following options:

  • System signature:

With a system signature, the signatory identifies himself or herself with his or her SAP user ID and password, just as when logging on to a system. The system then provides a digital signature in the user's name, whereby the name and user ID of the signatory are part of the signed document.

  • User signature with verification:

With user signatures, authentification is provided by a security product. The security product must be installed on the WinGUI. The security product must implement the SAP SSF interface.

In this case, the user writes the digital signature with his or her own personal key. User signature with verification means that the signature provided is automatically checked immediately to verify its authenticity by checking the validity of the user certificate.

In productive systems, this setting should always be used to directly reject invalid signatures.

  • User signature without verification:

With this setting, the user signature is used, but no verification check is carried out. You should use this setting for tests only.
