Definition

The contents of the SAP Library (documentation) are delivered in different technical variants called help types. The help types have different document file formats, access the documents differently, and have different search and print functions.

Documents from areas other than documentation, such as training, can only be displayed with the DynamicHelp help type, which assumes installation of the SAP Knowledge Warehouse.

The system administrator installs one or more help types, possibly in several languages. The help types that can be installed partly depend on the operating system of the frontend client.

The following help types are delivered::

  • HtmlHelpFile (Display in HTMLHelp Viewer, access by file server, for Windows 9x and NT frontends)
  • PlainHtmlFile (Display in the web browser, access by file server, for all frontend platforms except for Windows 3.1x)
  • PlainHtmlHttp (Display in the web browser, access by web server, for all frontend platforms)
  • DynamicHelp (Display in the web browser, asccess by SAP Knowledge Warehouse, for all frontend platforms)
