Definition
Passwords can be guessed, and it is therefore necessary to limit the number of failed password logon attempts. Once a definable limit has been exceeded, a password lock is set; if a password lock is active, further attempts to log on using a password are blocked.
Normally, a password lock remains in force without a limit, and must be manually released. However, it is also possible to define a maximum validity period for password locks.
Use
Value Meaning
0 Password lock must be explicitly released
1 Password lock applies for a maximum of 24 hours (automatic unlocking)
This security policy attribute replaces profile parameter login/failed_user_auto_unlock.
