Definition

Use

Lists general texts (document class TX) in the documentation worklist. You use this class to create documentation which is not intended for use by a specific function or object.

For instance you can create text modules that you can paste into any number of other documentation objects. This avoids having to translate the same text repeatedly.

Dependencies

Since general texts can be used anywhere, there are no predefined headings for this document class. General texts can be easily inserted and removed again. The different uses for general texts are:

  • Include: When you insert a general text, its current version is always displayed in the documentation, regardless of when you inserted the text. No additional translation work is required.
  • Expand Immediately: If you immediately expand the general text rather than insert it, the current version is pasted as a copy into your documentation when you edit the documentation. The copied text must be retranslated together with your documentation.
Any changes made later to the general text are not copied to your documentation. To make the changes visible you have to paste the text into your documentation again.
