Documentation
Definition
Used for the grouping of supply elements for the different supply and demand matching (SDM) evaluations. These evaluations include the calculation of material shortages and uncovered demand, for example.
Use
The grouping of supply elements is relevant for the evaluation of shortages and the definition of rules for supply and demand matching. The evaluation of shortages distinguishes between four different supply categories (stock, execution supplies, ordered supplies, and planned supplies) to which you can assign appropriate supply elements.
In the supply profile, you can define supply groups using the following information:
- MRP element category
- Manufacturing order status - available for production and process orders (MRP element categories FE and BR)
- Firming indicator - available for schedule lines and planned orders (MRP element categories LE, BE, and PA)
Dependencies
In a later Customizing step, you assign the supply profile to a material shortage profile. You can define one or more material shortage definitions in the material shortage profile. You assign an individual supply group to each definition.
Example
For example, you want to compare your planned supplies with planned demands. In this case, when defining the material shortage definition, you enter Planned Supplies in the Supply Groups field.
