Definition
The reference document number can contain the document number at your business partner. However, this field can also be filled with something else.
Use
The reference document number serves as a search criterion when you display or change a document. In correspondence, the reference document number is sometimes printed instead of the document number.
Procedure
Enter the number specified by the partner. If the document was created in your company and there is no document number at the partner, you can enter '*' to copy the document number to the reference number field.
