Definition

The system can display a comparison icon in the first column in the "Data Records" display in the BC Set maintenance transaction (transaction code SCPR3). It indicates whether a data record in the BC Set differs from the data record currently in the database.

The system compares the data records using their keys. The possible comparisons and icons are defined in the legend (Legend pushbutton) in the BC Set maintenance transaction.

Use

You can specify in the BC Set user settings, whether such an icon is always to be displayed when the current data records are read from the database.

Dependencies

• The system can only display the icons if the current data records for the selected table/view have been read from the database. This can be done either automatically when you select a table/view (see the BC Set data record user settings), or manually with the database read switch under the data record display, depending on display/change mode.
• If the comparison finds a difference, you cannot tell from the color which fields are different. To find the difference, compare the BC Set with the customizing tables in the "Utilities" menu in the BC Set maintenance transaction.
• The system cannot display comparison icons for a table/view with more than 36 fields. To show the comparison icon despite this system restriction, restrict the display of the table/view to 36 fields. If a table/view to be displayed is more than 36 fields wide, the system informs you of this restriction, and you can control the further display behavior of the table/view.
