Documentation
Definition
The BC Set transactions show all the contents of a BC Set only in the current logon language, but BC Sets can contain entries in several languages, which are recorded when the BC Set is created. The data records in the BC Set can be activated in several languages.
Use
You can specify the languages which are to be recorded or activated in a BC Set, in the user setting "General Settings".
Dependencies
- You can specify the languages for the BC Set transactions for all users in a client, in the System Settings (transaction SCPRSETUP). You should specify the languages consistently, so that the language-dependent BC Set contents are consistent across users. This is important, for example, for consistent delivery of the translation.
- Each user can make his own language selection in the User Settings. If the user makes his own language selection, the system shows the user-defined languages in the language list. If the user switches back to the system defaults, the system hides the user-defined languages in the language list.
The user language selection can differ to any extent from the system languages, i.e. the system languages can be ignored. - The maximum number of languages is specified in the language installation in the current R/3 system, i.e. you can only select languages which are actually in the system.
Note:
If you logon to the system in a language which is not in the current language settings, the logon language is recorded/activated automatically, regardless of whether the languages are specified by the system or the user settings.
Example
- Create/save BC Set: (language selection: EN (English) and FR (French), logon language: EN)
The data records are recorded in the BC Set in English and French, if they are in the database tables. - Activate BC Set: (language selection: EN (English) and FR (French), logon language: DE (German))
The languages German, English and French are activated, if there are data records in these languages in the BC Set.
