Definition

Sometimes it's better not to see what you can see. To hide unpleasant flaws just use concealing makeup.

Use

Maybe parts of an actor's character shall not be shown to the audience, uh - user. That's easy, simply let the stylist do its job and accentuate this while coating that - just use an appropriate style. But sometimes that's not enough. Maybe some actors have a great character indeed, but you don't want them to act directly on the screen at all. And that's fine, they won't even recognize if you just tell the stylist to use concealing makeup when serving that actors.

An actor that gets concealing makeup will not be seen as acting actor if the director's earth-shattering "and action!" chases down the location. Hence, a stylist or director might still refer to that actor's character by looking up the screenplay actively.

Dependencies

Actor's involved in a dialog without being the primary actor of that dialog are considered "concealed" implicitly, that is even without being madeup with concealing makeup. Still, of course all actors' texts might be requested by looking up the screenplay actively.
