Definition
You can schedule entire work lists with all the tasks that they contain.
To do this, you need to specify a relative start time for each task.
This contains two time specifications:
- The first is the number of calendar or work days ("offset"), for example, two calendar days or one work day.
- The second entry is the actual start time, such as 12.15.
You can use scheduling for a particular time with these specifications as many times as required, without a scheduling date for the task list.
Example
You created the task of valuating external currency, specifying the offset in workdays start time: 12:15. If the If you plan this into the corresponding task list on a Friday, the system starts the task on the following Monday at 12:15 if the calendar being used is a factory calendar (weekends are not workdays). If the calendar is gregorian (all days are workdays), the system starts the task on Saturday at 12:15. However, if you scheduled the same task for a Monday, the system would start the task for both calendars on the following Tuesday at 12:15.
If the task list contains more than one task with relative start times, then the actual start times are always calculated from the schedule time taking into account the type of calendar specified.
Example
There are two tasks, assessment and settlement in the task list. The offset specifications are one and two calendar days respectively. The scheduling time is March 11, so the assessment task is started on March 12 (March 11 + one day), and the settlement task is started on March 13 (March 11 + two days).
Note
The offset specification for the start time always refers to the fixed scheduling time. The system then calculates the start time from the offset using the scheduling time, and taking the specified calendar into account.
