Documentation
Definition
Specifies the retention period in the system (in days) for settlement data transferred by EDI for self-billing in SD. The retention period is specific to the respective EDI partner.
Use
The system uses the residence time to determine which data can be archived. The current date less the residence time gives the key date according to which the system selects data for archiving. The system archives all data that has not been changed since the key date.
Dependencies
If you do not define EDI partner-specific residence times, the system uses the global residence time.
If you do not define an EDI partner-specific residence time or a global residence time, the application data is not archived.
Example
Example 1:
Current date: 12/30/2006
Residence time: 30 days
Data last changed: 12/01/2006
Since less than 30 days (only 29 days) have passed between the current date and the date on which the data was last changed, the relevant data transfer is not archived.
Example 2:
Current date: 12/30/2006
Residence time: 30 days
Data last changed: 11/20/2006
Since more than 30 days (40 days) have passed between the current date and the date on which the data was last changed, the data transfer is archived.
