Definition
This indicator enables you to take interest losses in the form of grace interest into account when a scheduled repayment is settled before the payment date.
Example: Annuity loan with immediate repayment settlement
Case 1: Payment at start of period
Due date Saturday, 03/15
Payment date Monday, 03/17
Settlement date Monday, 03/17
In this case, there is no grace interest.
Case 2: Payment at end of period
Due date Saturday 03/31
Payment date Monday, 04/02
Settlement date Saturday, 03/31
If the grace interest indicator is set, the interest payment is increased to account for the grace interest relating to the repayment from 04/01 to 04/02. The repayment amount is reduced accordingly.
Note: You can also apply the grace interest method for installment repayments.
