Supplementary Documentation - SATC_CI_ADMIN_SETUP_FLAGS0001

Here, you can specify whether users are allowed to request exemptions in this system.

Your choices are as follows:

  • No: If you choose this option, users may not request exemptions for ATC findings. Clicking on Request Exemption in the Details of an ATC finding returns an error message.
  • Yes: With this option, you allow users to apply for exemptions to mask ATC findings.

Yes causes further options to appear on this screen.

Usually, you should allow users to apply for exemptions. This is always the case if you plan to do central ATC quality checking.

You should also allow users to apply for exemptions if you choose the Block on any error or Block on severe error option in the Transport Tools frame on this screen. That way, users can complete transports by requesting an exemption for an ATC finding that cannot currently be fixed. Otherwise, a transport that contains an object with an ATC finding is blocked until the ATC finding is corrected.

Here, you can specify the type of ATC result for which users can apply for exemptions.

You have the following choices:

  • Only for Central Results: Choose this option if you are doing central ATC quality checking. That way, users in development systems can apply for exemptions only against the official, central ATC results.

If you are doing central ATC checking, then there is usually no reason for users to apply for exemptions to local ATC findings.

  • For Any Result: Users can apply for exemptions to findings in any type of ATC result. Users can apply for exemptions not only against central ATC results, but against local results that they produce themselves in their development systems.

Choosing For Any Result is only sensible if you choose Block on any error in the Transport Tools frame on this screen. That way, a user can complete a transport that is blocked by an ATC finding by applying for an exemption to the local finding. Otherwise, the transport is blocked until the ATC finding is corrected.
