Documentation
Definition
The external alert ID is used as an identifier of an alert.
Use
If the alert is sent externally, the alert ID can be added to the alert. If this is the case when sending e-mails, for example, then an alert can be confirmed simply by answering the original e-mail. The external alert ID is required for this confirmation process.
Dependencies
Inbound processing for Alert Management must be set up properly, so that confirmation by e-mail works.
Example
The alert 'Missing part in production' with external ID ##12345## is sent to the colleague responsible. This corrects the problem immediately, answers the e-mail, and the alert is automatically confirmed.
