Definition
Specifies a detailed order of importance for your sales demands required for the calculation of uncovered demands.
Use
You define the order of importance for your sales demands in two steps:
- When assigning MRP element categories to the demand groups, you define the category importance. This specifies a high-level grouping for all demand elements.
Note that the category importance is relevant for prioritizing all demands and not only sales demands. - In this field Sales Demand Importance, you can then define a more detailed sorting rule for the sales demands bundled within the demand group Ordered Demands. You define this sort rule based on the creation date, requirements date, and item priority.
Note that the sales demand importance is only relevant to sales demands for the calculation of uncovered demands.
Dependencies
Example
For example, your sales orders are grouped together in the demand group Ordered Demands to which you have assigned a category importance. This could mean that a large number of sales orders all have the same priority ranking. To enable the system to determine an order of importance within the demand group, a more detailed sort rule is required.
With the option, Creation Date (1), Requirement Date (2), Item Priority (3), for example, you can instruct the system to first cover sales orders with the earliest creation date, then the sales orders with the earliest requirement date, and finally it should cover the sales orders according to item priority.
