Definition

The system use describes how the system is used within the system landscape of the System Administration Assistant.

  • Development System for the System Administration Assistant
  • This is where the system configuration and the structure are maintained. You can also maintain the individual tasks in every system in which the related task area is modifiable.

There can only be one development system within the system landscape.

  • Master System for the System Administration Assistant
  • This is the central storage area for the status information of all tasks (in all systems). For this reason, a remote connection to the master system must always be available.

Defining a Master System is Optional.

  • Master and Development System for the System Administration Assistant
  • Using one system as master and development involves both of the possibilities described above.
  • Inactive System
  • Systems, that should not (yet) be administered with the System Administration Assistanten, can be identified as inactive systems. In display mode, they are not displayed. nicht angezeigt. You can change the system use setting "inactive system" at any time, which then allows the system to be displayed and administered.
  • Standalone System
  • Systems that should not be accessible through a remote connection for security reasons can be identified as standalone systems. This type of system can only be administered locally. In particular the tasks are not visible to other systems.
