Definition
The business application view makes it possible to create a horizontal subdivision in the structure according to task areas in addition to the vertical subdivision by area.
The areas can be selected by the user. They can be used to map a departmental structure.
Example
For example, for the tasks area Basis, the following subdivision according to areas is possible:
- DBA
- for all database-relevant tasks
- SYSTEM TECHNOLOGY
- for all tasks that are dependent on the operating system or hardware
- BASIS MONITORING
- for all other (SAP-specific) Basis tasks, for example monitoring the system log.
An alternative to the subdivision above, may also be
- SYSTEM1
- for all tasks that affect System 1
- SYSTEM2
- for all tasks that affect System 2
- ...
- SYSTEMn
- for all tasks that affect System n.
The above example show that horizontal subdivisions according to area can very much map a company structure.
SAP does not deliver subdivision according to areas.
Such a subdivision must take place in the customer's system and can only be assigned to tasks that have been copied into the customer area.
