Definition

Used to describe the situation in an SAP SCM 4.0 system with regard to data extraction to an external SAP BW system. An internal SAP BW system is used within SAP APO. This means that the SAP SCM 4.0 system is considered to be a BW system. As a result, you can have only one connection, that is, one connected client, from the SAP SCM 4.0 system to the external SAP BW system.

Set this indicator if SAP APO is active and productively used in the SAP SCM 4.0 system. In this case, you should then use the Customizing transaction for enabling and disabling SAP APO to specify exactly one client for each of the other applications within SAP SCM 4.0, for example, SAP Event Management or LIME. This is to ensure that the data for the relevant application is selected for extraction. The connection to the external SAP BW system is then established with client 000, for example. However, when data is extracted to the external SAP BW system, it is selected from the individual client specified.

Do not set this indicator if SAP APO is inactive. In this case, the SAP SCM 4.0 system is not regarded as a BW system and you can establish one external SAP BW connection for each SAP SCM 4.0 system client. When data is extracted to the external SAP BW system, it is selected from the connected client(s).

Example

If SAP Event Management is used productively in two different clients, data from both clients can be extracted to an external SAP BW system, as long as SAP APO is not active in the same system. If SAP APO is active, data can only be extracted to an external SAP BW system from one of the two clients.
