Definition
There are two types of system log:
Use this option to select the local system log. Each SAP instance writes its own local system log.
There is always a local system log. It cannot be deactivated (other than by installation errors).
A user always alalyzes his or her own local system log. Other local system logs can only be accessed indirectly by logging on to another host or via the central system log.
The central system log normally also exists. The central system log is made up of the local system logs from all the instances. You can use the same tramsaction to analyze the central system log.
