Definition

If you set this flag, all 3.x functions in the Data Warehousing Workbench that a new technology exists for are hidden. This means that all functions that generate 3.x objects are no longer available in the context menus on the trees and other transactions.

This includes all the functions that refer to the following objects:

  • InfoSpoke (TLOGO SPOK)
  • Update rules (TLOGO object UPDR)
  • 3.x transfer rule (TLOGO object ISMP)
  • 3.x DataSource (TLOG object ISFS)

If objects that are linked with current objects still exist however, they are still displayed in the Data Warehousing Workbench. The context menu entries for these objects are still available.

Use

This prevents users from continuing to create objects based on 3.x technology, even though the new objects are already available. It is better to create a transformation for example instead of continuing to use the update rules.

Dependencies

If the flag is set, the system no longer asks whether to transfer DataSource being replicated as 3.x DataSources or new DataSources. They are always transferred as new DataSources.

Example

The Create Update Rules function has been taken out of the context menu for InfoProviders. Context menu items Change, Display, and Delete are still available for existing update rules.
