Definition

The 'Real-Time Enabled' indicator determines whether a delta-enabled DataSource can be used as the data provider for a real-time daemon.

If the DataSource determines the delta generically using a delta-relevant field, note the following with regard to security intervals:

  • Having a security interval at the lowest limit may result in redundant data in BW. Redundant data cannot be used with InfoCubes and DataStore objects that have key figures that are updated additively. With a real-time update, the redundancy of the data may increase due to the short intervals between real-time daemon runs. If you have a lower security interval of two minutes and a daemon frequency of 1 per minute, the data may be in the PSA three times. This can cause database problems and runtime problems.
  • Having a security interval at the upper limit reduces how up-to-date the data is. With real-time, the up-to-dateness of the data is calculated by the upper security interval and the time between daemon runs.
