Definition

This attribute determines whether a DataSource suports extraction from archives, and how the files are selected for reading from the archive. There are the following settings:

  • No archive connection

The DataSource does not support the extraction of data from archive files.

  • With manual file selection

In this case, file selection in the InfoPackage is obglitaory when you extract data from an archive. You must select at least one archive file, and make sure the the archive files you choose comply with the selcetion criteria in the InfoPackage.
  • With automatic file selection

In this case, selecting files in the InfoPackage is optional. Using the selection criteria in the request and an archiving index, the extractor is able to select automatically the archive files that are required in the extraction. The archive files that are selected manually in the InfoPackage are used to further restrict the files that have been selected automatically. An empty file selection in the InfoPackage means that no additional restrictions have been made to the selection of files that has been generated automatically.

In the last two cases, you must make sure that the selected archive files are available in the file system at the time the extraction takes place.
