Definition

A residence time is the amount of days for which application data is retained in the system. The key date used to select the data to be archived is calculated by subtracting the residence time from the current date (local date depending on user).

Delimitation to residence time 1

Residence time 2 should be considerably greater than residence time 1. This enable you to archive transactions at a later point in time, if they have not yet been processed or matched.

Archiving of all account postings, whose posting date lies on or before the key date. The matching status is not checked when using residence time 2.
