Definition
The delimitation usage is assigned to a delimitation type and specifies whether the delimitation type is used to build delimitation records or whether it is only used to sort dynamically according to logical criteria (such as posting date).
Example
The delimitation type that is used to sort postings by posting date has the usage "sort only". Since sorting is always executed dynamically, it is not necessary to build partitions.
The delimitation type that is used to build statements has the usage type "partition". The postings belonging to the statement make up a partition. This relationship is recorded internally via delimitation records.
