Definition

For performance reasons, it is possible to import data from alternative sources when the summarization levels are rebuilt. Choose the quickest method for your situation:

  • Suitable summarization level

    The system checks whether a summarization level exists from which the new summarization level can be built. If you want to build several summarization levels at the same time, then there needs to be an existing summarization level that contains the majority of the characteristics in all the summarization levels to be filled with data. If a suitable summarization level does not already exist, the build program terminates.

  • Segment level

    The data is read from the segment level. For performance reasons, the system only checks whether it can read data with a consistent status. The system does not try to correct the data. If the program finds records that have been posted more recently, then it terminates the build-up of summarization levels.

  • Current line items

    The data is read from the line items and the segment table. It is always possible to read a consistent dataset because the data is not read during a safety delta of half an hour.

    For the data to be read with a high level of performance, an index with the field PAOBJNR is required on the tables CE1xxxx and CE2xxxx. If you are using this option, create this index.

  • Line items as posted

    The data is only read from line items. This method is quicker than the method "Current line items" because it does not involve reading the CE4.

    WARNING: You may only apply this method if no realignments have yet been performed in the system. Only under these circumstances are the characteristic values in the line items consistent with the characteristic values in the segment table. When you have performed realignments, you may no longer apply this method, otherwise data with the structure as posted is imported into the summarization levels - without warning!

Procedure

To choose a method, proceed as follows:

  1. If a suitable summarization level exists, then choose "Suitable summarization level".
  2. If no additional data was posted to Profitability Analysis while the summarization levels were being filled with data, then choose "Segment level".
  3. If no realignments have yet been performed in Profitability Analysis, then choose "Line items as posted".
  4. Choose "Current line item".
