Definition
The type of proposal influences the strategy by which summarization levels are proposed:.
Enhancement Proposal
Existing summarization levels are taken into account during optimization, and only additional summarization levels are proposed.
Use this type of proposal if new report requirements have been added, and these are not yet supported by summarization levels.
Replacement Proposal
With this type of proposal, all existing summarization levels are ignored. The proposed summarization levels replace the existing levels.
Use the replacement proposal if a large number of summarization levels have been created as a result of repeated use of the enhancement proposal, and the number summarization levels needs to be reduced.
Further notes
- If you use the enhancement proposal repeatedly, more and more summarization levels will be proposed. The system will not propose deletion of summarization levels which are no longer required.
- The replacement proposal does not delete any summarization levels either. It also creates new levels. So that the old summarization levels can remain as long as possible, first start a reset for the proposed summarization levels. Then delete the old summarization levels using the IMG activity Define summarization levels.
