Definition
Contract end date seen from the viewpoint of renewal agreements, but without considering notice rules.
Use
On the Term tab page, the system displays the next contract end date, seen from today's perspective. (For examples, see below.)
If you are in the process of renewing a contract, then the system displays the next contract end date on the Renew tab page, from the viewpoint of the given renewal interval. The date that is shown is dependent on the row that is currently selected in the list of renewal intervals.
Examples:
- First contract end date: December 31, 2005, and annual automatic renewal with a notification period of 3 months
- The following value is displayed in the Next Contract End Date field, depending on the current date:
- Current date: September 15, 2005 (the notification period of 3 months has not yet elapsed)
Next Contract End Date: December 31, 2005 - Current date: October 15, 2005 (the notification period of 3 months already elapsed)
Next Contract End Date: December 31, 2006 - If the contract contains options, then the Next Contract End Date field shows the end date of the last option exercised, as long as this date is in the future. If the end date of the last exercised option is in the past, then the contract is either already ended, or the rule (described above) for automatic renewals is in effect.
- The Next Contract End Date field is empty if the contract has the status With Unlimited Renewal.
