Use
Using the notice rule, you specify the allowed notice dates and notice periods. The system can then determine the next possible notice date based on the date of notice receipt.
The notice rule is initially a general calculation formula. It is not related to a contractual party. It is the notice procedure that actually assigns an existing notice rule to a contractual party.
The system supports two different types of notice rules. These two types are independent of each other, and each represents its own separate calculation formula.
- Period Regulation: Covers all typical notice rules that take the form: "Notice for End of Month/End of Quarter/ ... with a Notice Period of xx Weeks/Months ... Less xx Grace Days" .
- Deadline Regulation: Only required if you want to specify special notice dates that are not supported by a period regulation (for example, every year only on March 31 and September 30) or if you want to set up an extraordinary notice date (for example, on March 15).
The fields common to both period regulations and deadline regulations are the key and name. The key has to be unique for both period regulations and deadline regulations.
Dependencies
When processing a contract, you do not assign notice rules directly. Instead, you assign a notice procedure that is based on notice rules.
