Definition
In the reset set you define the data that is to be reset in the receiver table. This resetting of data in the receiver table is carried out before the actual rollup itself. This enables you to reset the data of all receiver ledgers used in the rollup to zero in order to guarantee consistent data for the rollup.
For performance reasons, this set must contain at least the first four dimensions of each FI-SL summary table:
- Ledger (field RLDNR),
- Record type (field RRCTY),
- Version (field RVERS),
- Company code (field BUKRS or RBUKRS) for local ledgers or
Global company (field RCOMP) for global ledgers.
The reset action only resets the data in the database to zero; no records are deleted.
Note
Using the reset set, the data of the rollup ledger is set to 0 prior to the actual rollup for the periods selected. A reset set is normally not necessary, since the active (default) overwrite (compare online documentation for the "Cumulate values" field) allows for multiple runs of a rollup in a period. However, a reset set makes sense in the following cases: 1) The rollup field movement was changed after completing a rollup. When repeating a rollup for a period, different rollup sets are created than in the previous run. The new rollup records do not match the old records and thus do not overwrite them. The old rollup records remain in the ledger and lead to an incorrect result. With a reset set, the old records are also reset to 0. 2) If data from multiple source ledgers are added together with the use of multiple rollups into one rollup ledger, the "Cumulate values" indicator (as describe in the online documentation for this field) has to be active for all affected rollups. If these rollups need to be repeated in a period, you can enter a reset set in one of the rollups so that the values for this period are first reset to 0. Afterwards, all rollups can be run again with the "Cumulate values" indicator activated.
