Documentation
Definition
The entries in Sections II and III of the land register are related to each other in a ranking system.
The rank is based chronologically on when the assignment was made to the list of encumbrances in these sections of the land register. The system automatically assigns the rank of the encumbrance types in chronological order (oldest to newest), as long as you do not make any other specifications to the contrary.
The ranking has an affect on when an encumbrance type is considered to apply. Under German law, this is regulated by § 879 of the German Civil Code.
Use
You can enter an encumbrance in the land register before an existing encumbrance (sequence number of the entry), which results in a different ranking.
