The option rate can be freely defined in the object.

The option rate cannot be freely defined. It is either predetermined in Customizing or it is calculated according to a procedure defined in Customizing.
When the indicator is set, the option rate for objects that use the procedure can be individually set in the master data maintenance. The entry is time-dependent, in other words you can define from when to when the defined option rate is valid.
