Documentation
Definition
The sales tax code stands for a tax category that has to be taken into account when taxes are reported to the tax authorities.
The tax code are unique for each country. For each tax code, the tax rate and other attributes are defined.
Procedure
For transactions that are either tax-free or are not eligible for tax, you have to use tax codes with the percentage 0 if the transactions are to be displayed in the tax returns.
Note
If tax rates are changed by law, new tax codes have to be defined. The old codes with the old tax rates have to be retained until there are no longer any open items using this tax code.
