Output Result as Hierarchical-Sequential List
Use
The hierarchical-sequential list is intended for creating print formats. If you select this indicator, you need to select either a layout variant or the fields for the header and item rows from the following dialog box displayed.
Whether a report allows a hierarchical-sequential list to be displayed is defined in Customizing for the information system.
You cannot switch between different layouts when displaying the list because the sorting and grouping have already been defined.
The dialog box for field selection:
When selecting fields, you can define the sequence of fields using item numbers. If you do not enter any item numbers, the fields are added to the layout in the sequence they appear in the field list.
The first five fields of the header row are used for grouping and sorting in the sequence you specify. All the selected fields for the header row are available when you edit the layout of the list displayed. However, you can no longer change the current grouping by swapping fields.
The fields selected for the item row are displayed in the sequence you specify. All other fields are available later when you edit the layout and can be swapped in any way.
Creating new layouts from the list display:
The field selection for the header row contains the fields you selected, while the item row contains the entire field selection of the report.
You can change the sorting and grouping for new layouts using an existing layout as a basis.
To do this, choose the "Sort ascending" function in the menu under "Edit". A dialog box appears in which you can change the field selection for the header row as you require. You then save the new layout under a different name. When the list is next called up with this layout, the changed grouping becomes active.
Totals and subtotals:
You can calculate totals and subtotals and save these in the layout. When you next call up the layout, the totals are displayed automatically.
Subtotals are only possible for header row fields.
Hierarchical lists and profiles:
If you want to use a report profile, you need to create a separate layout.
Special features of header row fields:
The fields that do not belong to the grouping are displayed but may have different content in the item rows. In the header row, you see the value of the first item row.
