Documentation
Definition
Identification of the Records Management System (RMS).
Use
An RMS is a completed unit within Records Management. It can be compared to a client in an SAP system. You can separate different business areas from each other by defining several RMS. Different access authorizations to records can be controlled by assigning records to different RMS.
The RMS ID is cross-client.
SAP delivers the RMS ID REAL_ESTATE for Flexible Real Estate Management. This RMS ID is assigned to the area ID S_AREA_SMS.
If you want to use Records Management in your production system then define a new RMS ID, for example ZREAL_ESTATE, with the transaction SRMREGEDIT. This ensures that future changes to the delivered example will not restrict the production operation.
For more information about Records Management and configuration, see the Implementation Guide for Records Management.
