Definition

Using a layout group, you can define a uniform appearance per report. Once a layout is saved for a report, it can be reused by all report profiles that belong to the same layout group.
This applies to the columns of the measurement profile and/or condition profile, as well as to the columns, sort criteria, subtotals, and so on that are set up in the ALV variant.

Use

Enter a layout group for each report profile.

Dependencies

You should be aware of this limitation:

  • The following scenario is not a problem: You defined a layout for a report profile, and you want to use this layout for another report profile that has fewer measurement or condition columns assigned to it.
  • However, the following causes problems:
You want to use a layout for another report profile that has more columns for profile aspects. In this case, the additional columns are displayed randomly mixed with the columns defined in the layout.

SAPs recommendation:

When you save a layout, it is not possible to know which report profiles this layout could also be used for. Therefore, you should enter the same layout group only for profiles that have the same structure (the same number of columns for their measurement profile and condition profile).

Example

You have defined several report profiles with the same number of columns for measurements and conditions. For measurements, you now want to have the report display only the measurement amounts for all measurement types. For conditions, you want it to display only the normed condition value.

First, enter the same layout group for all of these report profiles in Customizing.

Then start the report, for which you want to specify this layout, using one of these report profiles. Change the layout so that the columns appear that you want to see. Save the layout.

The saved layout is now available for all report profiles of the layout group, and you can select it on the initial screen of the report.

If you made other changes (such as displaying or hiding certain object-specific fields), these changes are also stored with the profile.
