Documentation

Definition

Use

If the current document references earmarked funds, the effect of this indicator is to reduce the earmarked funds in full from this document. If the earmarked funds are not cleared in full by the document, the amount still bound is released again.

Note that the indicator set during posting no longer appears when you display the posted document. The reason for this is that another user has reset the indicator to earmarking since the document was posted.

Procedure

Examples

You reference and FI invoice for $50 to a funds commitment for $100. This reduces only half of the funds commitment. You are sure that the funds commitment is not longer required and set it to "complete". The amount not used ($50) is returned to the budget.

Dependencies

Completed earmarked funds cannot be further reduced. If the funds in in the completed earmarked funds are still required, you can undo the "completed" status in the earmarking change function..

Note that you normally have to reset the earmarking change function manually. If, for example, you want to reverse a vendor invoice or post a reduction of a payment request, the system does not reset the indicator automatically. The budget committed by earmarking will not be released again in these cases.
