Definition
The calculation method specifies whether 30 days or the actual number of days in the month are used for making calculations proportional to the whole month.
Use
30 Days for Every Month:
Calculation base is always 30 days.
Exact Days:
Calculation base is always the number of days in the respective month.
Period-Specific, By Year:
See Fixed Periods.
If the calculation method is not specified, calculations are made based a 30-day month.
Dependencies
A calculation is only made if a pro rata method is set in the Pro Rata field.

Calculation Method 30 Days for Every Month
In this case, the system determines an amount of 533.33 EUR (16/30 of 1000) for February; 1000 EUR for March to November; and 500 EUR (15/30 of 1000) for December.
If you use the Exact Days calculation method instead, the amount determined for February is 500 EUR (14/28 of 1000) and 483.87 EUR (15/31 of 1000) for December.
If you change the Pro Rata setting, the amount is 1000 EUR for each non-prorated period, regardless of the calculation method.
