Definition

Normally an adjustment becomes effective on: the date that is determined by the adjustment frequency and the date of the last adjustment, or by the entry for the date of the first adjustment.
Here you can specify how many months after this date that the adjustment should actually take effect. This field is interpreted in conjunction with the field. By entering a negative value, you can specify that the adjustment becomes effective before the normal date.
If the is set to Fixed then:
When the value x is positive, the adjustment delay is calculated with an index level that, in comparison to the adjustment date, is x months before the adjustment date (the adjustment date is delayed withregard to the index level ). If the value is negative, the adjustment is effective retroactively.

Use

Dependencies

Note: if nothing is entered here, the date might also be influenced by the setting in the field. Depending on your Customizing settings, this field is usually in Customizing or you can maintain it on the contract or rental object.

Example

Last adjustment: November 1, 2002
Adjustment frequency: 12 months
Flexibility: Fixed
Desired adjustment date: November 1, 2003

If the adjustment delay is 3 months, then the system checks the index level of August 1, 2003 to see if the required minimum change was already reached, and if so increases the rent on November 1, 2003.

If the adjustment delay was -3 months, the adjustment would take place using the index level of February 1, 2004 and be effective retroactively to November 1, 2003, assuming the necessary minimum change was reached.

Flexibility: Earliest
Desired adjustment date: November 1, 2003

If the adjustment delay is 3 months, then the system checks the index level of November 1, 2003 to see if the required minimum change was already reached, and if so increases the rent on February 1, 2004.

If the adjustment delay was -3 months, the adjustment would take place using the index level of November 1, 2003 and be effective retroactively to August 1, 2003, assuming the necessary minimum change wasreached.
