Definition

The prefix is used to generate the external names of the created objects (material masters, specifications, recipes).

Use

The prefix must contain three characters but only characters that are permitted for the created objects may be used. A prefix with less than three characters has the character 'X' added to it by the system. If no prefix is specified, the prefix 'LBL' is used.

Dependencies

The prefix must not already be in use for the objects to be created in the system. If a prefix is already being used for a material master, specifications, or recipe, the system tries to change the last character of the prefix until it finds a valid one. The numbers from '0' to '9' are added as the last character.

Example

You enter 'LBL' as a prefix. A name of a specification already starts with the characters 'LBL', therefore the system suggest the prefix 'LB1'. The material masters, specifications, and the recipe that are created then start with the prefix 'LB1'.
