Definition
The alternative document type allows you to change the document type during order processing.
Use
For example, you first create an inquiry and while processing the order you decide to change it to a quotation. Later you could change the quotation into a standard sales order.
You determine the alternative document types for each document type that be used in order processing in Customizing.
