Definition
This value works in conjunction with the READ AHEAD SIZE parameter. When Online reads during sequential scans it processes the information in memory. The unprocessed data in memory triggers Online to do the next read-ahead.
The Online database server has built-in smarts as to how much data it will read in for the next scan. Therefore only under worst cases is the total maximum anount of data fulfilled.
