Documentation
Definition
You use the inspection point type to control the business environment, in which an inspection point is to be used.
Inspection point processing is used for the following inspection lots:
- For inspections during production
- For maintenance orders
- With sample management
Use
The inspection point type:
- Controls whether an identification field is predefined as obligatory when the inspection point field combination is defined, and how it is predefined.
- Controls the selection of the sampling procedure in the task list
You use the inspection point to determine which sampling procedures may be used in each task list (such as, routing, inspection plan). - Controls the automatic generation of inspection points when inspection lots are created
In certain business scenarios, inspection point identification fields that are used when lots are generated, are well-known. In this case, the inspection points are created when the lot is generated and are displayed immediately in the work list for processing (provided that the inspection lot has been released).
Procedure
Examples
Example for point 1
For inspection point type 1 (inspection point for equipment) that is used, for example, in a calibration inspection, the equipment number must be entered. (To access the results recording function, however, you can use a different key word instead of 'equipment number', such as, 'test equipment').
Example for point 3
The sample-drawing procedure determines the number of samples to be taken. The system automatically creates an inspection point for each sample.
Dependencies
Task list type
The task list type determines which combination of inspection point fields is used for a particular inspection point type.
For example, in routings for a functional location and instructions, you are only allowed to use inspection points of type 2 (inspection point for a functional location).
Sample management
To process samples, you must choose inspection type 3 (for sample management).
