Definition
The person's date of birth as recorded in official documents.
Use
Procedure
You can enter the date of birth as DDMMYY. The system automatically inserts the periods and first two digits of the year when you save the record.
In some cases, a person's exact date of birth is unknown. The unknown part (day or month) is then replaced in his/her official documents by '00' or other characters. In the system, enter the unknown part as 00.
The system cannot use this data for calculations as it is not formally correct. In certain cases, for example when validating an employee's pension insurance number, the system uses the date of birth recorded in the person's passport.
The system therefore stores two dates if the exact date of birth is not known.
- This field contains the birth date recorded in official documents.
- The birth date used by the system as a basis for calculating a person's age is automatically displayed in a additional field when you press ENTER.
The latter is determined on the basis of the birth date recorded in the passport:
- If only the birth month is known, the fifteenth of that particular month is taken as the date of birth.
- If only the birth year is known, then July 1 of that particular year is taken as the date of birth.
The result is written in the additional field.
If the birth date recorded in the passport and the birth date generated by the system are identical, only one date is displayed.
