Definition

Specifies, together with the multiple selection indicator, the number of component variants to be selected.

Use

When the indicator is set, exactly one of the component variants of the structure node must be selected by the system when the product variant structure is exploded.

If the multiple selection indicator has also been set, the system must select at least one component variant.

Example

The "vehicle_steering_wheel" structure node would, for example, have the required component indicator, as the steering wheel is absolutely necessary. The "vehicle_air_conditioning" structure node, on the other hand, would not have the required component indicator, as air-conditioning is not absolutely necessary for a vehicle to work.
