Definition
Quantity of the variable-sized item, which the system calculates from the sizes entered. You can enter a variable-size item formula for the calculation.
The variable-size item quantity refers to one piece.
Procedure
When you change a field that affects the calculation of the variable-size item quantity (the size or the formula, for example), the system recalculates the variable-size item quantity only when you reset the existing variable-size item quantity before.
You do this by deleting the content of the Variable-size item quantity field.
Example
Size 1: 200
Size 2: 300
Unit of measure for size: MM
Unit of measure for variable-size item: M2
Calculation of the variable-size item quantity:
A = size 1 * size 2
A = 200 MM * 300 MM
A = 0.06 M2
The variable-size item quantity is 0.06 M2 per sheet.
Dependencies
The total quantity, which is needed for planning, is calculated by the system. The base quantity 1 is the product of the number of variable-size items and the variable-size item quantity.
When 10 steel sheets, for example, are part of the component (number of variable-size items = 10), the total quantity is 10 * 0.06 M2 = 0.6 M2.
