Definition
Contains the name of the iPPE node.
You name the iPPE node when you create it. The name clearly identifies the iPPE node within a product class (class and class type).
iPPE nodes are the basic elements of Integrated Product and Process Engineering. They represent general components and functions of a product.
Dependencies
You can define different types of iPPE nodes with specific characteristics in Customizing.
Supplementary Documentation - PVS_PNODE 0001
Use
By assigning a PVS node to an activity, you define that the components maintained at the PVS node are to be installed with this activity.
Dependencies
Enter just the PVS node when all the variants of a PVS node are to be installed with this activity.
You must enter the variants in the Variant field in addition to the PVS node when only certain variants of a PVS node are to be installed.
You can assign production resources and tools to an activity. This is only possible when you have maintained PVS nodes for the production resources and tools.
Example
Supplementary Documentation - PVS_PNODE 0002
Use
- In the BOM field, you can enter an access node or a structure node from the product structure for which you wish to display the BOM data. If you access the display via a production version, the product structure is automatically transferred from the iPPE access object of that production version.
- In the Routing field you can enter a routing header or a grouping node from the process structure for which to wish to display the routing data. If you access the display via a production version, the process structure is automatically transferred from the iPPE access object of that production version.

Example
Supplementary Documentation - PVS_PNODE 0003
Use
The iPPE object, production resource represents a primary resource. You must specify a production resource before you can enter a duration. If the production resource if of type 'workers', and has been indicated as relevant for capacity planning, it forms the basis for the connection to Product Cost Planning, and to Labor Resource Planning in the APO.
Dependencies
In the mode, you can specify more production resources as secondary resources. No capacity planning is done for these secondary resources in the APO. You can, for example, assign production resources/tools as secondary resources.
When iPPE data is transferred into the APO, APO resources are generated in the APO System for the production resources.
Example
Supplementary Documentation - PVS_PNODE 0004
Use
Here you can specify a producion resource, which is not used during capacity planning in the APO, such as a production resource/tool.
