Definition
When the indicator is set, nodes which are included in structures of this type are checked as to whether they belong to
- a class which is an element of the class hierarchy
- a more general class when the node is subordinated to different, more specific classes
Example
The three final product classes Mountain Bike, Racing Bike and Treking bike are assigned to the Bike class. The Scooter class is not an element of this class hierarchy but represents its own product class.
Nodes in the Scooter product class cannot be linked to the Bike class PVS. The class hierarchy check results show that the Scooter class is not an element of the Bike class.
As a node can only be assigned to one class, a Bell node (that is the same for a mountain bike, racing bike and treking bike) must be assigned to the more general Bike class, otherwise it cannot be used in the structures of the three special bike types.
